Basic Food Safety
This online course is designed to introduce the learners to the principles of safe food handling. This training will provide an overview of the safe food handling principles used in the activities performed by Mass Care feeding workers in support of a disaster relief operation. The training is divided into four segments; it uses video, high resolution photographs, flash animations, an extensive food safety-related glossary and remediation questions to build a comprehensive knowledge base. The program concludes with a graded quiz and personalized printable Certificate of Achievement. Length: Approximately 1 hour

Client Assistance Cards: Caseworkers
This online course introduces caseworkers to the role of issuing Client Assistance Cards by interviewing clients, filling out the proper forms and activating Client Assistance Cards via phone. The course addresses both a disaster relief operation and a local response. Length: Approximately 2 hours

Client Assistance Cards: Financial and Statistical Information
This online course leads Financial and Statistical Information Management (FSI) workers through the Caseworker’s role of issuing Client Assistance Cards by interviewing clients, filling out the proper forms and activating Client Assistance Cards via phone. It then addresses how FWI workers distribute, control and track cards on both a disaster relief operation and during a local response. This course is equal to, and can take the place of, segment three of the Financial and Statistical Information Management course. Length: Approximately 3 hours

Defensive Driving

Disaster Public Affairs Overview
This online course provides an introduction of disaster Public Affairs to those who will be going on disaster relief operations. The course provides an overview of the role Public Affairs plays in disaster relief as well as guidelines for those working in any activity to use when responding to a media inquiry. ERVs: Ready, Set, Roll
This course is comprised of two components, self-study and instructor led. The course will provide learners with the opportunity to learn about and use an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) and all related equipment. The self-study portion must be completed prior to the second portion, which consists of the combination of an ERV orientation and a road test. Length: Approximately 3 hours

Financial & Statistical Information Management
This course will prepare Red Cross members to perform the tasks of a Financial & Statistical Information Management (FSI) service associate on a disaster relief operation. This course can be completed as a self-study or instructor-facilitated method. Length: Approximately 4.5 hours
Fundamentals of Disaster Assessment
This course is comprised of two components, online and instructor-led. The online training, which must be completed prior to the instructor-led portion, provides an overview of the Disaster Assessment activity and its related tasks. Length: Approximately 3.5 hours
